Laguna Playhouse Education Summer Programs are currently being offered in an online format.  Each session is 4 days/week and 2 weeks long, culminating in a showcase on the final day.

  • June 28 – July 9 (No class on 7/5)

Improvisation Workshop*

In Improvisation Workshop, you’ll experience the transformative nature of group play and creation. The lessons are rooted in Viola Spolin’s foundational theatre games, mindfulness, movement, storytelling and play. You will learn on-camera improvisation to tap into creativity and collaboration with your cohort. Learn to trust your instincts as an actor, develop comic timing and collaborate with others.

BROADWAY Musical Theatre Workshop*

This exciting and action-packed class teaches students how to audition for a musical role and then prepares them to perform that role. They’ll enjoy vocal work, while learning to interpret the music and the text. Above all, they will learn what it means to "act" a song with emphasis on healthy use of the voice, how to work with others, how to sing with confidence, movement/dance for auditions and, of course, lots of fun!

Broadway’s Fairy Tales - Because there is nothing better than a fairy tale to capture the brilliance of BROADWAY – featuring songs and scenes taking you on an amazing journey into the woods and beyond.

*Online Class requirements (Zoom Meetings): You will need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera (built-in or plug-in), speakers, microphone (or telephone), and a broadband internet connection (1 mbs/sec or greater). Courses will not be recorded. Students must attend during scheduled meeting times.
