Laguna Playhouse Youth Theatre
Laguna Playhouse Youth Theatre offers acting and musical theatre classes for ages 9 – 18, as well as fully produced theatrical productions. Designed for young audiences, these performances showcase developing artists from the program as well as professional actors. Classics like Boxcar Children and Wizard of Oz are produced seasonally, and family-friendly programming is also offered during our mainstage season and at the Holidays. Special performances available for school groups. See specific class sections below for dates and times.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Taught by experienced professionals, Laguna Playhouse's after-school workshop classes are for students ages 4 - 17. Held at the theatre and/or at nearby venues, classes are held weekly for six to ten weeks. Over the course of a calendar year, class offerings include:
Students study theatre in a safe, supportive environment designed to nurture creativity/imagination and individual growth.
Laguna Playhouse Youth Conservatory is a small-enrollment, high-level program of theatre skills instruction for talented young people. Admission is selective and by audition. An annual tuition is charged. Scholarship aid is available.
The Youth Conservatory is divided into four levels:
Youth Theatre plays are directed and designed by theatre professionals and fully-mounted with Laguna Playhouse's technical resources. The staff (front of house, backstage crew, follow spots, assistant stage managers, dressers, etc.) are all drawn from the Youth Conservatory students.
Laguna Playhouse’s Summer Camps offer children the opportunity to develop skills in the theatre arts and build confidence in performance and social interactions. Classes meet in safe and creative environments, and are taught by working theatre professionals who offer their expertise in singing, acting, dancing, and performing. At the conclusion of the workshop, students will share their work in a demonstration for invited friends and family.
Class sizes are limited and fill quickly, so early enrollment is encouraged.
Scholarships are available for students who could not otherwise participate. Please contact Donna Inglima // firstname.lastname@example.org // 949.494.8021 for details.
Refund Policy: Cancellations are accepted up to seven days prior to the first class. 75% of class fee will be refunded upon cancellation (25% administrative fee will not be refunded.) No refunds after the seven day deadline.
