Through TheatreReach, Laguna Playhouse welcomes schools to our theatre for matinees during the school day of professional productions created specifically to align with the California State Standards for literature, history, and performing Arts curriculum.
The program is designed to deepen and strengthen scholastic engagement with literature and in-school workshops. Study guides are provided to teachers in advance of each performance. Post-performance question-and-answer sessions further enrich the educational value of the experience. Related student and teacher workshops are also available.

The Laguna Playhouse offers Theatre-Arts Based Programs for Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in Orange County. With Proposition 28 in effect for this year, we will partner with you to create the perfect Arts program for your students.
Engagement in Theatrical Arts is a proven method for improving social skills, academic achievement, and self-sufficiency. We provide 6 weeks of instructions which include the foundations of technical theatre and performing arts. Students will learn acting, design, and improvisation under the guidance of experienced and caring teaching artists.
There is no other experience that can compare to the transformative power of live theatre! The Laguna Playhouse also utilizes its gifted Teaching Artists to create custom 6 and 12-week programs with local schools helping students develop self-esteem, grow creatively, and work as a team. Each session culminates to a final showcase presentation.
As students learn rhythm and self-expression through music, they unlock vital aspects of their personalities. The playhouse expands on the fundamentals of Theatre Arts through instruction in musical instruments, movement, and vocal techniques. Customizing 6 and 12-week programs that are Musical Theatre-based concluding in a presentation is also a popular option.
