TheatreReach: Bringing Books to Life is an award-winning program that takes the show on the road and brings professionally staged productions to Southern California schools. These engaging, interactive, one-hour plays adapt popular children's books that are approved by the California Dept. of Education for K-6 literature and history curriculum. Content is similar to G-rated films.

The program is designed to deepen and strengthen scholastic engagement with literature and in-school workshops. Study guides are provided to teachers in advance of each performance. Post-performance question-and-answer sessions further enrich the educational value of the experience. Related student and teacher workshops are also available.

In 2018, Laguna Playhouse expanded the program to provide high school students with the workforce skills and knowledge to help them enter the growing performing arts industry in Anaheim and Orange County.

Over a period of thirteen weeks, Laguna Playhouse brings theatre professionals to high schools to provide students with hands-on training, teaching them how to produce play from start to finish. Students are instructed in the technical aspects of producing a play, such as sound, lighting, costume and set-design, and character building through research. In addition, students learn the professional aspects of theatre, including how to act on and off stage, how to audition for a role, and how to interview for professional cast and crew positions. The program trains collaborate, to communicate, to lead, to create, to question, to engage in critical thinking and product iteration.
