Join us for our upcoming stage combat workshops with Rebecca Duckworth and Bobby Shook

Rebecca Duckworth has worked as a combatant, fight director, and combat instructor in NYC and across the US. She played Annabeth in The Lightning Thief national tour, for which she fought quarterstaff in 36 states, and she can be seen in the advertising for Busch Garden’s Battle for Eire as an Irish kickboxing fairy. She also worked as a Jedi for Disney, and boasts a 100% win rate agains Darth Maul and Kylo Ren. Though, perhaps, that’s how it was choreographed.

Bobby Shook has 20 years of film and stage combat, and stunt experience. He has worked as a fight director and fight choreographer, and taught stage combat classes in NYC. He specializes in sword and shield combat, but loves knife combat because that is how he met his wife, Rebecca, in a theatre production. It was love at first fight.

Stage Combat: Ages 9-13

11 AM - 1 PM

Students will learn the principles and safety of stage combat, basic hand-to-hand fighting movements, basic sword and staff fighting movements, and a brief choreographed fight sequence.

Stage Combat: Ages 14-18 

1:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Students will learn the principles and safety of stage combat, learn how to tumble safely, basic hand-to-hand fighting movements, basic sword and staff fighting movements, and a brief choreographed fight sequence.

March's Stage Combat workshops are $85.

CONSERVATORY STUDENTS - It is free for current Conservatory Students with a code. To help prevent no-shows, we ask that you pay a $25 deposit to reserve your spot. If your student attends, the $25 will be refunded back to your card. Please email education@lagunaplayhouse.com for the discount code.
