Lord Sean Wellengard is an accomplished actor, director, poet, and playwright. He received his AA in Theatre Arts from Orange Coast College, his BA in Theatre Education from Cal State Fullerton, and his MFA in Playwriting from Hollins University. He’s also a graduate of the South Coast Repertory: Professional Conservatory. Sean has published two books (a book of poetry entitled Socially Inept and Timeless Theater: Monologue and Play Book) and one e-book (The Back Stories, Vol. 1). He has had four full length plays produced: Digested Disney (The Found Theatre, Long Beach Playhouse: Studio Collective, and The Maverick), World War III (Orange Coast College: Studio Theatre), Air Born (Orange Coast College: Mainstage Theatre), and Nobody Loves a Telemarketer (Orange Coast College: Studio Theatre and Long Beach Playhouse: Studio Collective) along with numerous one acts and monologues performed in Los Angeles, Orange County, Colorado, Virginia, and New York. He adapted a selection of Edgar Allan Poe's works that performed at STAGES Theatre, entitled The Poe Plays. Sean is a founding member of SWAG (Script Writing Artisans Group) and the stand-up/sketch/improv troupe known as ComedyKaze. Sean has taught Playwriting workshops at Orange Coast College and the Laguna Playhouse and has coordinated “Plays Made in a Day” annually at OCC since 2010. Sean was named The Daily Pilot's “Man of the Year” in Theatre for 2007.

Playcraft: Build the Kingdom of your Play

Ages 6-12: 12 - 1 PM

Create a world and the players in it to tell your story on stage. Become a kingdom builder/playwright by mastering the art of describing the scenery, creating characters, and storytelling. Have fun living in the world you create in the role of your dreams with Published Playwright Lord Sean Wellengard.

Play Styles: Dabble in different genres of Playwriting

Have you ever wanted to write an Absurdist play? A Musical? An Adaptation? Do you have a story in mind, but aren't sure the best way to tell it? Try different forms and formats with MFA Playwright, Sean Wellengard, author of Timeless Theater: Monologue and Play Book who has been produced throughout OC, LA, and NYC to find the voice/style/genre that best suits you. 

February's Playwrighting workshops are $50.
